Kent loved hard work.  He was a heavy-equipment operator and worked at Western Rock Products.  In 1984, Kent helped form A-T Asphalt Paving.  He built this company into one of the strongest construction companies in Southwestern Utah.

In 1992, Kent began his career in land developing and with his partner developed commercial and residential properties in Washington County.

In 1985 Kent built a cabin on Kolob Mountain and loved to escape there with his family.

He passed away on December 29, 2011 and was buried in the Escalante City Cemetary.
