IN MEMORY

Mac Durand

Howard MacDonald Durand was born February 16, 1945 in Santa Ana, California.  Mac passed away February 12, 2004 at the Colorado State Veteran's Nursing Home at the age of 58.

Mac was a Jump Master in the US Army.  He was previously married and had three children:  Donald, Daniel, and Kristina.  Mac worked as a casino dealer in Las Vegas and Elko, NV.

Court records show that Mac and Larry Bulloch had been drinking and gambling in Nevada.  They returned to Cedar at about 11:00 pm and stopped at the Playhouse Bar.  In the parking lot of the bar, Larry and Mac had a disagreement.  Mac went to his mother's trailer where he was staying.  When he saw Larry drive up, Mac loaded a shot gun and went out to meet him--telling Larry to stay in the car.

Larry began to get out of the car, and Mac shot him in the chest.  Mac then shot Larry in the leg.  Larry returned to the car and slumped over the wheel.

Mac was found guilty of Second Degree Murder and was imprisoned at the Utah State Penitentiary for the murder of Larry Bulloch.  Hans Chamberlain, another classmate, was the Prosecuting Attorney.

Mac's burial place in UnKnown.
