STEVEN POSEY passed away in Manteca, California, on September 24, 2024. He was born January 13, 1945, in Long Beach, California, to the late Sterling (Speed) and Cleone Posey, Steve grew up in Cedar City, Utah, where he met the love of his life, Clara. They were happily married for 59 years.
Steve's career as a heavy-equipment operator with PG&E brought him and his family to San Leandro, California, where they made a life together. He was a passionate outdoorsman, who loved deep-sea fishing along the California coast and spending time hunting and fishing on the lakes and rivers near Cedar City. Known for his exceptional handyman skills, Steve could build anything and was always eager to take on a new project. He enjoyed a good cigar and was naturally social, making friends wherever he went. Above all, Steve cherished his family, and his hardworking nature and love for them was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his wife, Clara; his daughter Christine Patterson; and his son Mark Posey; his grandchildren, Eric, Jason, and Caitlynn Patterson; and his sister, Carole. Steve was preceded in death by his brother Mike. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
