MARSHA VORKINK (LOGAN) was eating out in Layton with her son. The Cedar High girls of '63 had a  luncheoon in Cedar at Pizza Factory. We called Marsha for her birthday and sang Happy Birthday to her.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARSHA

SHERAL DAVENPORT (CONDIE) is doing well.  They moved to Southern Utah in May--just as the Big Heat began. They are waiting for the cool temps, but, hopefully, won't be shoveling snow! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHERAL

**Larry Olsen, the brother of JOANN OLSEN (CROWTHER) passed away at the age of 86 in Arizona. Larry graduated from Cedar High and furthered his education at Utah State University. He was in the National Guard and served on the Cashe County School Board for 12 years. 

Larry is survived by his sisters JoAnn Olsen Crowther and Joyce Condie. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 26th, in Hyrum Utah.

FLOYD RIGBY and Claire are leaving on a trip to spend some time together.  Floyd went Elk hunting in Wyomng, then the next day was in St. George to work at the Temple. He thought of the pioneers and how it would take them months to travel that distance.  Have a good, safe trip and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FLOYD

BRENT BULLOCH has been in touch with Wayne Cooley to make sure he wasn't a victim of the flood. Brent's mom still lives in Cedar, and is 101 years old.  She has seven children, and they each take a day every week to call her.

Brent said he was shocked when he heard that Robert Smith had passed away. Brent and his family are doing well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRENT

LINDA EVANS and I talked on the phone. She is beginning to attend a therapy group of people who have lost a friend or loved one. Linda is also in contact with  Kim Valdez (Maureen Isom).  Kim has moved relatively close to Linda in Colorado, and they are going to get together for lunch.

STEVE KENT POSEY passed away on September 24, 2024 in Manteca, California. Steve was born January 13, 1945 to Speed and Cleone Posey. Steve grew up in Cedar where he met his wife Clara. They were married for 59 years.

Steve's career as a heavy-equipment operator with PG&E brought him and his family to California where they built a life together. Steve loved to hunt, fish, and go deep-sea fishing. 

Steve was known for his handy-man skills. He could build anything, and was always eager to take on any project. Steve cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his wife, Clara,     daughter Christine, his son Mark, and three grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

**William Roy Houchen, the brother of SHEILA HOUCHEN (HUNTER), passed away September 27, 2024 in the Cedar City Hospital due to complications of pneumona.  Leroy was born Februry 13, 1947. He attended Cedar High, and shortly after graduation was drafted into the Army.

He married Delores Torres and worked for the Cedar City Police Department over 35 years as a patrol officer, detective, and as a Drug Enforcement Agent. LeRoy worked for over 40 years in various positions in  law enforcement.

** DOUG PECTOL lives in Tennessee, but he is not a victim of the flooding. He is retired from law enforcement, and said he and his family are "truly blessed." 

JOE GUBLER has had an eventfull summer. His son decided to buy and resell motor homes for the poor.  Joe travelled all over the United Sates checking out the RVs and driving them back. Joe bought one himself, and his son ended up with one.  Joe says he is too old to be driving all over, so he thinks he will just campout on Cedar Mountain.  He and Diane have children scattered  across the US, so they will be visiting them.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOE

EMBER LAMBERT had a fun birthday. Her nephew, Tony's son, took her to the Shakespearian Festival. She also had dinner at Milts.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMBER

SUSAN ASCROFT (ENCE) has had a rough year. She went to Colorado for Christmas to be with her kids. She began having chest pains. While in the hospital, Susan went into Cardiac Arrest. The doctors saved her, and put in a pacemaker. She has Osteoporosis with seven broken vertebra. She believes, however, that she is on the mend. For her birthday, she is going to have a See's Chocolate--I told her to eat one for me!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSAN

MAUREEN ISOM (KIM VALDEZ) is moving out of the HOH. The Board took out vegitation that Kim said was really nice. Now, they have weeds everywhere. She is moving into a new house. She lives in Colorado. Kim has been in the hospital, but is doing much better now. She has retired from working on taxes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KIM
